I am re-opening my wheel sessions for purchase, to be booked for January 2021.
Bookings will be available for weekday days, Tuesday evenings and I'll open one weekend a month for Sunday sessions. I'll do my best to accommodate a day that works for you. For more information on availability you can email me lianne@studioLPceramics.com.
I hate having to publish rules, and have held back on holding any classes as the thought of them felt a bit overwhelming. But the rules are feeling a little more 'normal' now, so I feel more comfortable inviting people into my studio.
Bookings can change in line with government regulation changes or lockdowns or if you or I have to quarantine. If for any reason Covid changes the booking, it will be completely transferable for us to work out another day that works for you. If we can't, booking fees are completely refundable or can be applied towards products.
Health and safety will be my main concern, so I will ask you to wear a mask (unless you are exempt for health reasons) and I will also wear a mask and shield. Hand sanitiser will be provided, and all tools will be washed thoroughly before and after use.
Bookings will be for a single person or for a pair of people from the same household (this is an additional cost, see listings for details).
Visit my home studio in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire for a throwing lesson to make a mug and one other form (vase, small pot, bowl). This is suitable for complete beginners to the wheel with no or limited prior experience.
-Lesson fee includes up to two people on the wheel, each of you getting a mug and form you made.
-The lesson is approximately 1.5-2 hours long. You'll start by pulling handles for your mugs with my guidance. We will then move to the wheel, where I will throw a mug body, explaining each step. Each of you will then have a go, with my assistance. We will keep going until you get a mug shape!
-After the lesson, once the clay has firmed up, I'll attach your handles and trim a foot ring into your mug, stamped with your initials. It will then go into the first firing. When it comes out, I'll glaze it in the colour you chose, the fire again. The process usually takes about 4 weeks. When it is ready, you can come and collect from the studio or it can be posted for an additional charge.
-Lessons can be arranged via email (lianne@studioLPceramics.com). Weekdays, Tuesday evenings and some weekends are available.
-If you'd like to buy the experience as a gift for someone, gift cards are available by request.
