I've always wanted to make cake plates but not had a big enough kiln, as you can expect, they take up a lot of space. But a bigger kiln last Summer and now was the time to have a go. I've glazed them in a glossy pink with half either a matte grey or matte white. Where the glazes overlap creates a pretty effect, with some of the pink peeking through.
The perfect size (16cm diameter, or about 6 inches) for an elevenses snack or afternoon cake. Each of the designs has a matching mug you can purchase separately.
These are dishwasher and microwave safe. Best not to leave them sitting in the water of a sink though, as the unglazed base can absorb water and if then heated it can cause cracks to form.
