Wednesday evening sessions, 6-8pm starting 13 May. Sessions will run for three weeks.
Ideal for anyone who wants to learn hand building techniques to progress through all the stages of making your own ceramics. From mugs, vases, bowls, plates, you could make anything you desire during these sessions, with guided help from me (Lianne).
These will take place in my studio in Peterborough, with 4 people maximum, so you'll get plenty of one on one help. You'll have access to all of my tools and moulds, but this does not include tuition on the wheel.
Week 1: Learn the basics of handbuilding, including coiling, slab rolling and/or pinch pot making. During the first week you'll make your first vessels.
Week 2: After your vessels have had some time to go leather hard, this week you can add further decoration and handles or further refining. You could also make more items this week if you'd like. At the end of this session, you choose your favourite 3 pieces to get fired.
Between week 2 and 3 I will dry your makes, and fire them.
Week 3: You will have your bisque fired wares ready to inspect. Any sanding can be done, and then you can glaze them, using any of my studio glazes.
After week 3, I will fire your wares again, and then they will be ready for collection from my studio. I can post them to you for an additional charge (£5+ depending on size of pieces).
